Military voucher requesting payment of 292 for his subsistence (including clothing, pay and horses) during the fiscal year 1851 while Lee was supervising the construction of Fort Carroll in Baltimore. In the right margin he specifically asks: 'See Chap 78. 'an act making appns for support of the army for the year ending 30 June 1857' - Acts 31 Cong: 1st Sep: Approved 28 Sept 30.' Archivally triple matted and framed with a portrait of Lee to an overall size of 34.5 x 18.5. In fine condition, with professional tape repair and reinforcement to bisecting vertical fold and a few small spots of paper loss.
