TLS, one page, 6 x 8.25, Princeton University letterhead, February 24, 1909. Letter to a member of the University Club of Chicago. In part, 'I believe that it is the purpose of the committee who had charge of the celebration of the Lincoln Centenary in Chicago to publish the addresses in full. My own address was not written out, but I know that it was taken by a competent stenographer, and I am sure that it at any rate will in some form be published.' Accompanied by the original mailing envelope. In fine condition, with a light brush to a couple of letters of signature and a bisecting horizontal mailing fold. RRAuction COA.
