Captured during a 1967 guerilla campaign in Bolivia, he was summarily executed the following day, instantly transformed to a martyr and inspiration for other reactionaries. DS, in Spanish, signed 'Che,' one page, 8.5 x 9.75, March 6, 1959. Document issued by Guevera, signed as head of the Military department de la Cabano. Loosely translated, in part, 'Captain, Antonio Nunez Jimenes, has been commissioned...with the purpose of making air observations...and also taking views from different Cuban landscapes for his "Geografia of Cuba" that will be printed by the Rebel Army.' In fine condition, with punch holes to left edge, some scattered light toning and a horizontal fold though the top of one letter of signature. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
