Indian fighter and US lawman, one of the legendary Three Guardsmen who successfully pursued the Doolin Gang and other Oklahoma outlaws. In 1898 Madsen joined Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders and was named US Marshall for Oklahoma in 1911. DS signed 'C. Madsen,' one page both sides, 8 x 14, July 26, 1908. A court order for defendant William M. Henry to appear in the case of the United States of America v. L. G. Merriman, et al. as deputy, Madsen affirms that the warrant has been duly served.
