ALS signed 'Ronald,' one page, 7.25 x 10.75, personal letterhead, July 3. In part: 'This is just a hasty note. I just rec'd your letter and so of course didn't know about your grand-daighter [sic] being here in time to call her. I was in the East for two months and during that time my sister in law collected all my mail and tried to keep it sorted after a fashion. Unfortunately your letter was mis-placed into a bundle of fan mail and I only got to it the other day.
