Description

Henry Lee Lucas

For several years during the mid-1980s, Henry Lee Lucas enjoyed holding the title of 'the most infamous man on death row.' His fleeting fame did not evolve from the three cold-blooded murders he did commit, but from hundreds of murders he did not. Lucas is the only death row inmate to ever receive clemency from former Governor Bush. ALS, one page, 8.25 x 13.25, December 9, 1996. In part: 'Oh you ask me for money slips. Well I got hold of three. I'll send too [sic] you. I will appreciate any you send. I haven't had any for so long. As for Arthur, I don't know about him or what he's doing. I suppose you know I haven't written to him in quite a while. I also know Otis Toole died in September (While in Jacksonville, Fla., Lucas stopped at a soup kitchen where he shared a meal with Ottis Toole, a part-time transvestite with a penchant for arson. They became quick friends, and, according to Toole, lovers). No loss their [sic] but I do know he was killed by some one even the pictures that was taken showed black and blue marks on him. Hope all is going alright. A friend. Henry Lee Lucas.' In fine condition. RRAuction COA.
