Vintage Fats Waller photo

Jazz pianist, organist, singer, and songwriter, born in New York City. He played in the stride tradition, and was a natural songwriter, as seen in such hits as Ain't Misbehavin and Keeping Out of Mischief Now. He died of pneumonia on his way to Kansas City from Los Angeles, while entertaining soldiers at training camps. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Waller at the piano, signed and inscribed in green fountain pen 'To Jack: - May you enjoy the success you deserve. Sincerely, Fats Waller.' In very good condition, with scattered light creases and surface impressions, some light toning and a bit of edge wear. RRAuction COA.
