Attractive model of the Liberty Bell 7 with escape tower by Nick Proach Models, standing 6.5˝ in height and set upon a blue metal base, 4.25˝ x 3.75˝, with affixed McDonnell Aircraft logo; the base is signed in black felt tip by Curt Newport, the Liberty Bell 7 recovery expedition leader, Jim Lewis, the helicopter pilot for attempted recovery of the spacecraft, and Guenter Wendt, famed pad leader for NASA crewed spacecraft and the last person to see Grissom before launch. All three were onboard Newport’s ship 'Ocean Project' when Liberty Bell was raised from a depth of more than 15,000 feet some 38 years after being lost. Includes a color satin-finish 10 x 8 photo of Gus Grissom’s capsule pictured on the ocean floor, signed in black felt tip by Newport, Lewis, and Wendt. In overall fine condition.
