Complete, sealed meal pack of Apollo 7-era space food, measuring approximately 4.75˝ x 3.5˝ x 3˝, labeled on the front: "Day 2, Meal C," with serial number label on the reverse, "FAC018." Labels visible within the sealed food pack are "Banana Pudding" and "Pineapple-Grapefruit Drink." Also visible in the middle of the pack are two cubed snacks—perhaps brownies, bread cubes, fruitcake, or sandwich bites—as well as a germicide tablet in a separate pouch. The front label is marked with a "WSD" (Whirlpool Space Division) inspection stamp and ID number, "7353." A small swatch of blue Velcro is affixed toward the top of the sealed pouch. In fine condition.
This meal pack is identified to the Apollo 7 era by key design features, including the blue Velcro swatch (Gemini missions used white Velcro) and presence of the external germicide tablet (internal tablets were introduced starting with Apollo 8). The direction to use "cold water" further attributes it to the Apollo program; Gemini food packs simply state "water" as the spacecraft had no capability for hot water. A desirable, complete meal fit for an Apollo astronaut.
