DS in Italian, signed “Mussolini,” one page, 9.5 x 14.5, March 6, 1929. Official military document, in part (translated): "In February 1928, Reserve Medical Lieutenant Stella Luigi, Squad Leader of the M.V.S.N., while traveling by car in the company of a Centurion of the same Militia and three other individuals, was returning from Agrigento to Canicattì. On the way, they encountered three criminals committing a robbery against a cart driver. The aforementioned officer, although in uniform, instead of assisting the victims, complied with the criminals' orders to continue on his way. He therefore limited himself to reporting the incident to the RR.CC. [Royal Carabinieri Corps].
Due to this behavior, Lieutenant Stella was removed from the ranks of the Militia. Subjected to disciplinary investigations and referred subsequently to the judgment of a Disciplinary Council, the officer was found no longer deserving of retaining his rank. I have approved this verdict and, therefore, take the honor of submitting to Your Majesty’s sanction the attached decree, by which Lieutenant Stella is dismissed from his rank for disciplinary reasons, under Article 71 (letter e) of the State Law." Boldly signed at the conclusion in ink by Benito Mussolini. In fine condition, with torn binding slits along the left edge.
