Signed book in Cyrillic: The Road to Space. Moscow: Pravda, 1961. Hardcover with dust jacket, 5.25 x 8.25, 174 pages. Signed on the first free end page in blue ballpoint by Yuri Gagarin. The same page is annotated in blue ink by the recipient, who has inscribed their own name, “to Rodionov B.B,” and added a date of August 30, 1961. The title page bears a printed facsimile of Gagarin’s signature. In fine condition, with slight wear and sunning to the dust jacket.
The consignor notes that the book was obtained from the granddaughter of a doctor who worked at the government clinic where cosmonauts had check-ups during flight preparation and after the flight recovery.
