TLS in German, one page, 8 x 10.5, NASA George C. Marshall Space Flight Center letterhead, December 8, 1967. Letter to engineer Ernst Schwarz, head of the Federal Aerospace Group in the German Employees' Trade Union. In part (translated): "I would like to thank you most sincerely for your kind note of November 14, 1967, and for the congratulations you sent to my staff and me on the occasion of the successful first flight of our Saturn V rocket. It is a special pleasure for all of us to know that space travel now has so many interested and enthusiastic supporters. At the same time, I would also like to thank you most sincerely for your kind request as to whether I would be prepared to give a lecture at a meeting of the Federal Aerospace Group in the German Employees' Trade Union. As much as I would like to respond to such an invitation, I am unfortunately unable to make a commitment in view of my extraordinarily heavy workload and the unpredictability of our schedule here. I regret this extraordinarily and hope that I will have more time for accepting invitations to lecture once we have successfully carried out the landing on the moon." In fine condition.
