Interesting group lot of six early publications related to NASA’s Project Mercury, the first human spaceflight program of the United States, which includes:

- Stapled booklet from the 86th Congress, 1st Session (House Document No. 71), 25 pages, 5.75 x 9, dated February 2, 1959, entitled “U.S. Aeronautics and Space Activities, January 1 to December 31, 1958 / Message from the President of the United States Transmitting the First Annual Report on the Nation's Activities and Accomplishments in the Aeronautics and Space Fields, Pursuant to Section 206 (B) of the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958.”
- Stapled Senate booklet from the 86th Congress, 1st Session (Report No. 1014), 97 pages, 5.75 x 9, dated December 6, 1959, entitled “Project Mercury: Man-In-Space Program of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration / Report of the Committee on Aeronautical and Space Sciences, United States Senate,” which contains an interesting fold-out diagram of NASA’s various branches.
- Hardcover NASA book entitled “Results of the First United States Manned Suborbital Space Flight, May 5, 1961, 76 pages, 8.25 x 10.5, detailing the historic flight of Pilot Alan Shepard and his Freedom 7 spacecraft.
- Softcover NASA booklet entitled “Results of the Second U.S. Manned Suborbital Space Flight, July 21, 1961,” 58 pages, 8 x 10.5, detailing the flight of Pilot Gus Grissom and his Liberty Bell 7 spacecraft.
- Blue softcover NASA booklet entitled “Results of the Second United States Manned Orbital Space Flight, May 24, 1962, 107 pages, 8 x 10.25, detailing the flight of Pilot Scott Carpenter and his Aurora 7 spacecraft.
