Description

American politician who served as congressman, governor, and vice president (1824-1920). Two items from Levi P. Morton signed as vice president: an ALS, signed “L. P. Morton,” one page, 5 x 8, Vice-President’s Chamber letterhead, September 23 (no year), handwritten letter regarding a recommendation, in part: “It is possible that I c’d now aid him, a bright boy as I remember him, if he will call at the Senate say at 11 ½”; and an ink signature, “Levi P. Morton, May 24, 1892,” on a trimmed 5 x 2.75 sheet from his personal Vice-President’s Chamber letterhead. In overall fine condition.
