Group lot of six glossy silver gelatin press photos of Steve Jobs taken by various photographers of the San Francisco Examiner between 1987 and 1990, during Jobs’s tenure as founder and CEO of NeXT, Inc. The photos, which range in size from 14 x 9.5 to 11 x 14, either show Jobs posing for the camera or delivering a speech. The reverse of each bears affixed newspaper clippings from the Examiner and ‘Examiner Photo’ labels, three of which read: “3/29/88, Steven Jobs, Chairman of NeXT, Inc., speaks at luncheon…Claremont Hotel, Berkeley.” The others read: “10-26-87, Steve Jobs at the Cathedral Hill Hotel” and “9/18/90, Next Inc. Chairman Steve Jobs unveils the latest in computer software programming which is compatible with nearly all computer systems. Jobs made the announcement during a news conference at Davies Symphony Hall.” The sixth photo, which depicts Jobs standing behind a NeXT computer with another gentleman during a NeXT and Wingz presentation, is permanently affixed to the front of a seventh press photo of Jobs from 1989; as such, the reverse of the sixth photo and the front of the seventh are unable to be viewed. All of the photos bear editorial marks in felt tip or grease pencil. In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered marks and slight edgewear.
