Description

Austrian prince (1797–1870) who was Grand Duke of Tuscany from 1824 to 1859. Huge, ornate, hand-illuminated vellum manuscript DS in Italian, signed “Leopold,” one page, 26 x 19, February 15, 1838. Gorgeous "Diploma Nobilia Livornese," boasting a colorful, hand-painted coat of arms at the top center—flanked by ornate lettering, "Leopoldo Secondo"—signed at the conclusion in ink by Leopold II. Handsomely matted and framed to an overall size of 32 x 25.5. In fine condition.
