Remarkable original Western Union telegram sent by President Harry S. Truman, one page, 8.25 x 6, November 5, 1952. President Truman sends a message to "General Dwight D. Eisenhower," in full: "Congratulations on your overwhelming victory. The 1954 budget must be presented to the Congress before January 15th. All preliminary figures have been made up. You should have a representative meet with the director of the Bureau of the Budget immediately. The independence will be at your disposal if you still desire to go to Korea. H.S.T." Billing directions below instruct Western Union to "Chg the White House, Washn DC." In fine condition, with small tears to top and bottom edges.
