Lawyer, jurist, and statesman from Windham, Connecticut (1721–1807) who served as a delegate to the Continental Congress, where he signed the 1774 Continental Association. Partial partly-printed DS, signed “Elipht. Dyar Just: Peace” and "Elpht. Dyar Town Clerk," one page, 7 x 9, October 28, 1748. As justice of the peace, Dyer certifies that "personally appeared before me Elijah Sawyer signer & sealer [of] ye above Instrument and acknowledged the same to a [his] free act and deed." On the reverse, as town clerk, Dyer endorses the document: "Receiv'd this Deed to Record & [re]corded the Same in Windham." In good to very good condition, with paper loss to the edges affecting some of the text. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
