President Pierce grants “Coddington P. Fish” and his ship Florida passage to the Pacific for a “whaling voyage”

Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 22 x 17, October 15, 1856. Four-language ship’s pass issued to “Coddington P. Fish master or commander of the Ship called Florida…lying at present in the port of New Bedford bound for the Pacific Ocean and laden with Provisions, stores and utensils for a whaling voyage.” Prominently signed in the fourth panel by Franklin Pierce and countersigned by Secretary of State William Marcy. The original white paper seals remain affixed to the third panel. In fine condition.
