Official color semi-glossy 13.75 x 10.5 NASA photo of an artistic depiction of the docking of the Apollo spacecraft and the Soviet Soyuz capsule during the Apollo–Soyuz Test Project, affixed to its original 20 x 16 cardstock mount, which is signed in black felt tip by astronauts Tom Stafford, Vance Brand, and Deke Slayton, and by cosmonauts Alexei Leonov and Valeri Kubasov. The lower border bears a calligraphic inscription: “To Mr. Kent Crane – With best wishes from the Apollo-Soyuz Crew.” In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing, toning, and soiling to the mount.
Originates from the collection of American diplomat and former Foreign Service officer Kent Crane, who served as the former Special Assistant to Vice President Spiro Agnew and acted as a liaison between the White House and NASA during the Apollo Program. A close friend of the astronauts, Crane enjoyed fishing with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins and hunting game alongside Gene Cernan, Tom Stafford, and Wally Schirra.
