Official Finnish-language participation diploma issued to Soviet gymnast Galina Urbanovich at the Helsinki 1952 Summer Olympics, 14 x 19.75, which reads: “XV Olympia, Helsinki 1952, Galina Urbanovitch, V P., Voimistelu Puomi [Gymnastics Beam].” In very good to fine condition, with horizontal folds, stains to the upper portion, light marks, and some edgewear.
Although she placed fifth in the balance beam, Galina Urbanovich (1917–2011) won gold and silver medals at the 1952 Helsinki games in the Team all-around and the Team portable apparatus events. Urbanovich was a seven-time all-around gymnastics champion of the USSR and her career achievements earned her the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR award.
