Rare gold-plated official International Olympic Committee honorary medal that was presented to Phillip W. Coles in 1982. Gilt silver, 57 mm, 85 gm (128 gm with chain), made by Argentfi, S.A., Barcelona. The scalloped-edged medal bears raised Olympic rings to the front and the reverse bears a laurel wreath and text in relief, “International Olympic Committee,” with a central engraving: “Phillip W. Coles, Australia, 1982.” Includes its original 15-inch gold chain. The medal bears spotting and rubbing to both sides.
