Autograph endorsement signed by Andrew Jackson with his initials, "A. J.," one page, 3.5 x 3, no date. Jackson's handwritten endorsement, in full: "Application for suspension of order to Capt. Carney for a few weeks to make out his calculations of survey for railroad to be considered." Archivally mounted, matted, and framed with two plaques and an engraving (with facsimile signature) to an overall size of 20.75 x 18.5. In fine condition, with two areas of paper loss, and small captions affixed to upper and lower sections. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from South Carolina antiquarian Jim Hayes, who dates the endorsement to circa 1820-21, in the territory of Florida.
