Manuscript DS, in Spanish, signed “Yo El Rey,” one page, 12 x 10, January 20, 1510. Official document executed at Valladolid, in part (translated): "I the King, perpetual protector of the order of the Call of Saint James, by apostolical authority and by common consent to the general chapter of the order, which by mandate was made in the village of Valladolid in the year one thousand and five hundred nine it was agreed and approved that the city of Coran located in the province of Ferrara, and by the help of god and the fortunate apostle Saint James was gained from the Moors, enemies of our Catholic faith. Because of the event was agreed to built a convent in a thanks giving action, for benefit of the order of Saint James, in which the sacraments and offices may be supplied to the parishioners, of the order, also it was established that the members who were adopted by the order must wear an habit. In this way I made the correspondent approbation for the convent to be build in the city of Coran…I accord and nominate Don Juan Munoz as the superior of the convent who with the help of God, will mandate and take strict care of the order…I nominate him the Prior, I agree that the convent must be founded for the use and practice of the rules by the members of the same order, so in this day Don Juan Munoz must be named Prior of the order of Saint James in the city of Coran."
