ALS signed “Dutch,” one page, 8.5 x 11, 59th Annual Governors' Conference letterhead, November 7, 1967. Handwritten letter to Florence Welch of Sycamore, Illinois, in full: "You are a mistery woman! I've gotten letters from Eureka & they are all checking out news photos to see if anyone knows who that woman is who greeted me. It was good to see you and I'm very proud you took the tie & trouble to come over for the dedication. Of course it was a nostalgic but hectic time for me. I really can't give you an answer on whether there'd be a chance for a speaking trip in the spring. Our Legis. will be in session and there is no way of knowing whether I can get out of the state. Give my best to your favorite Democrat & thanks for the newspaper clipping." In very fine condition. Governor Reagan had given a speech to dedicate the Melick Library building at his alma mater, Eureka College, in September 1967.
