American lawyer (1927–1986) best known for being Senator Joseph McCarthy's chief counsel during the Army–McCarthy hearings in 1954 and for being Donald Trump's mentor and lawyer; he was disbarred by the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court for unethical conduct in 1986, and died five weeks later from AIDS-related complications. TLS signed “Roy,” one page, 7.5 x 10.5, personal letterhead, September 8, 1955. Letter to Meet the Press host Lawrence E. Spivak, in full: “It was nice to hear from you even in the form of a complaint. I have pictures of both my MEET THE PRESS appearances framed in my office. Frankly, I have no recollection of having received any additional copies. I have asked my office to see if there is one around, and assuming there isn't, if you send me another, I should be delighted to inscribe it and return it. If you would call me either at my law office, Whitehall 4-2644 or at The American News Company, Algonquin 5-5100, I should really like to have that lunch with you. An aunt of mine said she met you on the ship returning from Europe and that you are well. This is about the only word I have had of you except for Sunday nights. I hope to see you very soon and in the meantime send ever[y] good wish.” In fine condition.
