ALS signed “Henry Irving,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, December 14, 1878. Letter signed by Henry Irving, with the first section in the hand of Bram Stoker. Stoker writes: "Thinking that you would like to be present on the occasion of the opening night of the Lyceum on Monday 30th December, I have given orders to my Bookeeper to forward for your acceptance." Iriving continues the letter: "6 Dress Circle seats, in front row…Hope to see you soon. Everything going so splendidly." In fine condition.
Stoker worked as business manager for Henry Irving's world-famous Lyceum Theatre in London between 1879 and 1898, where he supplemented his income by writing a large number of sensational novels—his most famous being the vampire tale Dracula, published in 1897.
