Official color glossy 9.5 x 7.25 White House photo of President Johnson seated at his Oval Office desk as he signs a bill into law, affixed to its original presentation mount, which is signed and inscribed in black ink as president, “To Edward A. Garmatz, from his friend, Lyndon B. Johnson.” Framed to an overall size of 13.5 x 13; the reverse of the frame bears the stamp of White House photographer Frank Wolfe and red felt tip notations, “9 June 66 c, 212209,” a date that corresponds with LBJ’s signing of the Bail Reform Act of 1966. In very good to fine condition, with a small bit of missing emulsion (which has stuck to the glass). Pictured third from the left is the recipient of the photo, Edward Alexander Garmatz (1903–1986), a Democratic Congressman who represented the 3rd congressional district of Maryland from 1947 to 1973.
