Description

"I am delighted that you liked the West Point and the United Nations speeches"

TLS as president, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, July 11, 1955. Letter to Mrs. C. B. McLellan, in full: “Although I know that Governor Adams acknowledged your very nice letter of June twentieth to me, I have wanted to write you personally and this is the first comparatively free moment I have been able to find. I am delighted that you liked the West Point and the United Nations speeches, and touched by your thoughtfulness in writing to tell me so. You must have many wonderful memories of your long life in this vast and fascinating country of ours. I envy you the experiences you and Colonel McLellan must have had in the West in what we like to call our ‘early’ days there. Again my thanks for writing to me, and with best wishes for many more years of health and happiness.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, the upper address panel of which has been excised.
