Original red-and-yellow 11 x 17 single-sided concert poster for Nirvana at Portland Meadows in Oregon on August 22, 1992, supported by Mudhoney, Poison Idea, and Calamity Jane, in a "special performance to benefit the No 9 Campaign." A disclaimer along the bottom reads: "No outside coolers, bottles, cans or skateboards allowed into concert site." In fine condition.
The "No 9 Campaign" was a response to an anti-LGBT rights ballot measure in the state of Oregon that sought to prohibit anti-discrimination laws regarding sexual orientation and to declare homosexuality to be 'abnormal, wrong, unnatural, and perverse.' Interestingly, this show was canceled and rescheduled to September 10th due to the birth of Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, on August 18th. Helped by Cobain's vocal opposition to the initiative, the ballot measure was defeated by a 56% to 44% vote.
