Description

Two original 23 x 33 concert posters for the German leg of Nirvana's In Utero European tour, advertising the shows at the Offenbach Stadthalle on March 3, 1994, and the Koln Sporthalle on March 14, 1994. The posters feature identical artwork, with the iconic angelic anatomical figure from the In Utero album cover against a black background, with "Nirvana" in huge yellow letters above. In overall fine condition.

Both of these shows were canceled due to frontman Kurt Cobain's illness: on March 4, 1994, Cobain was hospitalized in Rome following an overdose of benzos and alcohol. His management agency said that the overdose was accidental, and that he was suffering from influenza and fatigue. However, Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, later confirmed that the overdose had been a suicide attempt: 'He took 50 pills. He probably forgot how many he took. But there was a definite suicidal urge, to be gobbling and gobbling and gobbling.' The incident led to the cancelation of the rest of Nirvana's European tour, and Cobain would be found dead in his Seattle home in April.
