Katsumori Yamashiro, Comdr.," who adds a detailed map from “Aug. 2, 1843,” which charts the incident within the waterways of the Solomon Islands, noting “Kolombangara Island,” the “Kula Gulf,” the “Vella Gulf,” and the point of impact between Kennedy’s PT-109 and the Japanese destroyer Amagiri, with Yamashiro adding, “To avoid collision, ‘Hard-a-Port,’ PT109 sunk by accident.” In very fine condition.
