Description

Complete "Festivities Issue" of The Choate News (Vol. XXIX, No. 16) from February 22, 1935, 13 x 17.75, eight pages, listing "Jack Kennedy" and his date for a dance, "Helen Barker, Miss Hewitt's School, New York," in a list of "Festivities Guests and Escorts" on the fourth page. In very good to fine condition, with light handling wear and unobtrusive tape reinforcement to small edge tears.

John F. Kennedy went to high school at the prestigious Choate School, a college-preparatory boarding school in Wallingford, Connecticut, where he gained recognition for his charisma and leadership skills, but was also known as a rambunctious prankster. Kennedy graduated from Choate in June 1935; despite finishing 64th of 112 students, he was voted as the 'most likely to succeed.'
