Description

American journalist (1851-1902) who co-founded Dow Jones & Company, created the Wall Street Journal, and conceived the influential Dow Jones Industrial Average. Twice-signed DS, one page, 14 x 17, April 1, 1891. A first mortgage bond of the Amity Canal, Reservoir and Improvement Company for $500, signed twice on the reverse by Charles H. Dow as a trustee. The bond boasts a fine vignette of a canal and retains 16 of its 20 coupons in the lower margin. In fine condition.
