Rare trio of Apollo 12 insurance covers from the personal collection of moonwalker Alan Bean. Each cover is signed in black felt tip by the full crew of Charles Conrad, Richard Gordon, and Alan Bean, who writes on the back of each cover: “Insurance cover from my collection, Alan Bean, Apollo 12 LMP.” All three covers bear a Scott C76 ten-cent ‘First Man on the Moon’ postage stamp, and a launch day postal cancellation at the Kennedy Space Center on November 14, 1969. The ‘Type 1’ cachet features a (Bishop) mission emblem with Navy wings and spacecraft names; the ‘Type 2’ cachet shows the mission insignia with “NASA Manned Spacecraft Center Stamp Club” text; and the uncommon ‘Type 3’ bears a non-official mission insignia showing a Yankee Clipper, the moon, the ocean, and three stars against a blue background, with the crew's names and positions printed below. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Amy Bean, the daughter of Alan Bean.
