"The peanut plants are attacked by Cercospora personata"

ALS signed “G. W. Carver,” one page both sides, 8 x 11.5, Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead, May 23, 1931. Handwritten letter to Geddy Porter in Fort Gaines, Georgia, in part: "You have sent some interesting specimens. The first box contained Lasiodiplodia or cotton stalk…The box which reached me today is the most important. The peanut plants are attacked by Cercospora personata…As soon as I can recover from the effects of Commencement, I would like to see this and some other peanut plots. I shall hope to see you Thurs…I want to talk to you about the peaches." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Carver's own hand.
