This musical comedy was directed by Richard Lester after his success with A Hard Day's Night the previous year. Although the Beatles are the main stars of the film, the movie also features many other famous actors like Leo McKern, Eleanor Bron, Victor Spinetti, John Bluthal, Roy Kinnear, and Patrick Cargill. The film premiered on July 29, 1965, at the London Pavilion Theatre, and a week later the film's soundtrack was released as an album.
