Two vintage off-white 3.5 x 2.5 cards signed in ballpoint by members of the Beatles: “John Lennon,” “George Harrison,” and “Beatles, Ringo Starr”; and “The Beatles, Love, Ringo Starr, xxx” and “Paul McCartney, xxx.” The thrice-signed card bears a Strand Hotel (Birmingham) stationery mark. The consignor notes that the autographs were obtained in early June when the Beatles were in Birmingham, England, to perform at the Town Hall on June 4, 1963. In fine condition, with an old tape stain to the bottom of the McCartney card. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a letter of provenance from the original recipient, which reads: ‘‘Birmingham, being the second city in UK, I was lucky enough to see all the prominent groups who played there. They usually stayed in the Albany Hotel where my mother worked. All my memorabilia was collected by the 13/14 year old me…At breakfast she would get the various stars autographs for me.”
