Description

A 1" x .75" swatch of Kapton foil that aerospace memorabilia specialists Ken Havekotte and Jerry Czubinski attest to as being flown and subsequently removed from the Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia's thermal protection subsystem. Presented in a 3.75˝ x 2.75˝ x 1˝ Lucite display with card bearing Apollo 11-related imagery and information to either side. Includes an 8.5 x 11 informational presentation sheet from Havekotte and Czubinski stating that it was removed after splashdown by O. W. Nasse, who was assigned to the Apollo 11 post-landing and safety recovery team. In fine condition.
