Original vintage circa 1944 glossy 6.5 x 4.5 wirephoto of United States Navy landing ships and 'rhino ferry' barges approaching the beachheads of Normandy during Operation Overlord, famously launched on June 6, 1944 (D-Day). Reverse is stamped, "Important: Not for use in Western Hemisphere or British Isles," and retains a partial printed caption identifying the scene. In fine condition, with some discoloration at center from the caption on the reverse. Encapsulated by PSA as an authentic "Type III" photograph, circa 1944.
