Description

One of Japan's most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902–1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a US citizen. ALS signed “Sincerely in Christ, Mitsuo Fuchida,” two pages, 8.5 x 11, May 11, 1967. Handwritten letter to Richard Calon, in part: "I have been always on my speaking tour through the United States and Canada, and now in Vancouver, B.C. After finishing my engagements, I will be back on May 15th to Seattle where my headquarters of the Captain Fuchida Evangelistic Association is located. I am now under writing of my life-story and it would be published within the next year by the Harper & Row. If it would be published, you can get it and it lets you know all about which you are asking me." In fine condition.
