Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 16 x 9.75, March 10, 1823. President Monroe grants “Edward Lawson of Scott County, Kentucky,” a plot of land “in the district of Brookville and State of Indiana, containing Eighty Acres." Boldly signed at the conclusion in ink by President James Monroe, and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office John McLean. The lower left corner retains the original white paper seal. In fine condition, with the handwritten portions of text quite faded but mostly legible; Monroe's signature remains bold.
