Complete issue of the New-Hampshire Patriot from June 30, 1812, four pages, 13 x 20.5, featuring the complete text of President Madison's letter to Congress on the foreign policy crisis (June 1, 1812) and the official proclamation of war against the United Kingdom (June 19, 1812). The paper also prints a call to arms and political commentary from publisher Isaac Hill, who would later serve as governor of New Hampshire, plus politically charged pro-war commentary, reports of war preparation, and news of Napoleon's advance into Russia. In fine condition, with scattered small stains and minor paper loss along the hinge.
