AMQS by Giacomo Puccini in bold ink on an off-white 6.75 x 5 sheet, signed below by the esteemed composer, "Giacomo Puccini, Paris 1912,” who adds two bars of music from his three-act opera “La fanciulla del West” (The Girl of the West). Archivally double-matted and framed with a photo of Puccini to an overall size of 21.5 x 11.5. In very fine condition. Based on the 1905 play The Girl of the Golden West by the American author David Belasco, La fanciulla del West premiered at the Metropolitan Opera in New York on December 10, 1910. At the time of its debut performance, Puccini declared the work to be the greatest composition of his career as a composer.
