Complete issue of The Philadelphia Inquirer from May 25, 1865, four pages, 13.25 x 20, featuring a fantastic woodcut of the 'Grand Review' of the Union Armies in Washington, D.C., with the headline: "The Armies of the Republic, Their Triumphant Return to the National Capital, George G. Meade–Wm. Tecumseh Sherman." Headlines in the first column include: "Gen. Sherman Leads the Warriors," "Spoils of the March from Atlanta to Richmond!," "Immense Crowd of Spectators!," "Brilliant Spectacle on the Avenue," and "Splendid Scene at the Reviewing Stand." In fine condition, with binding holes along the left edge and a few small edge tears.
