The certificate is signed by three USAF officers. Includes a presentation folio. In very fine condition.
Accompanied by an image of President Obama visiting Bagram Air Force Base and a letter of authenticity from the consignor, which reads: “I was deployed to Bagram Air Force Base from March 2012-May 2012. While I was there, President Obama came to visit the troops. I had him sign my certificate. This may be the only signature from Obama while in Afghanistan. I had to reach over a crowd of troops to pass up this form. He was there for about 30 minutes before he left. Not everyone at the base saw him, only those of us who decided to attend an event with someone of ‘high importance,’ but they didn't tell us it was the President because of security concerns.”
On May 1, 2012, President Obama made a surprise visit to Afghanistan, where he signed a historic agreement between the United States and Afghanistan and met with President Karzai at the Presidential Palace in Kabul. Afterward President Obama headed to Bagram Air Base, where he met with U.S. troops and thanked them for the sacrifices that they have made — and that their families have made — over the past decade of war.
