Significant contract granting rights to RKO-Pathe Studio "to produce one (1) photoplay containing the character Tarzan and all characters generally associated with his character," with "two (2) options for two (2) more so-called 'Tarzan photoplays.'" Neatly signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and countersigned by Joan E. Pierce, John Coleman Burroughs, and film producer Sol Lesser. Stapled into its original blue paper folder and in fine condition.
The Tarzan franchise moved to RKO in 1943 under producer Sol Lesser. From 1943 to 1955, RKO would release a dozen Tarzan films, starring Johnny Weissmuller, Lex Barker, and Gordon Scott as the titular ape man.
