World War II–era German Radione R2 radio broadcast receiver, measuring approximately 14˝ x 9˝ x 6.5˝, with the plate on the bottom reading: "Jng. Nikolaus Eltz, Radiotechnische Fabrik, Wien, V. Gartengasse 14-16, Type: R2, Fabr. Nr. 22002." The portable radio has a built-in speaker, volume knob, and tuning dial. This type of radio receiver was used onboard German U-Boats during World War II to bring morale-boosting music and political propaganda to the sailors and submariners of the Kriegsmarine. In very good cosmetic condition, with wear and chipping to paint.
