Booklet entitled "Eau de Cologne" from the personal library of James A. Garfield, twelve pages, 5.5 x 8, annotated and initialed on the first page in ink, "To be preserved as a curious specimen of French English. J.A.G., Paris, Oct. 18th 1867." Garfield's personal bookplate, "Inter Folia Fructus, Library of James A. Garfield," is affixed to the rear pastedown. Custom-bound in a modern full leather binding, gilt-stamped on the front cover "From the personal Library of James A. Garfield, Paris 1867," and housed in a matching clamshell case. In very good to fine condition, with splits to folds of a plate depicting a fountain honoring Johann Maria Farina.
