Handwritten letter from Corvallis, Oregon, to Dr. Aida Sloan, in full: "Thank you for your birthday card, & for the good intelligence that it brought. I have never had a nicer or more welcome message from someone unknown to me; & I write with appreciation & gratitude." In fine condition. Encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA as "MINT 9." Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Oppenheimer's hand. Oppenheimer turned 51 years old in 1955, ten years after the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
